Coconut Festival

Held at the beautiful Sarina Beach which is fringed by an esplanade park with BBQ and picnic facilities overlooking the coastal vista. Our pristine 1.5 kl coastline will be alive with adventure and activities. The festival attracts visitors from all over Australia and showcases the food and culture of our area and celebrates local diversity of our #mackaypride. There’ll be coconut events, palm weaving, de-nutting and de-husking, tropical beach markets, sand art along with a myrid of extraordinary food experiences featuring local produce and of course coconuts. Other highlights will be camel racing on the beach, kite flying and amazing entertainment. Visitors may even sight a humpback whale on their annual migration.

St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend

St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend 23-25 June 2023

The St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend is back for 2023 with Costa Georgiadis and Matt Golinski back for another fun-filled weekend!

Costa will be sharing his love for sustainable living while Matt will be exciting visitors with gourmet delights from our regional produce.

St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend is the must-do event on the Central Queensland tourism calendar.

-Immerse yourself in nature
-Take a wetlands tour and learn about the endangered bird species
-Tantalise your taste buds with local produce
-Get hands-on and creative with environmental art workshops

Tickets go on sale in April with camping, glamping, workshops and delicious food packages available.

Sarina Show

Sarina Show is a 2 day show is full of Displays and Exhibits, Stud Cattle, Prime Cattle, Ring Events and much more and not to forget the rides and excitement of sideshow alley.

Fireworks and a Rodeo are held on the Saturday night and music entertainment will entertain you at the Bar after the Fireworks.

On Sunday we have a Junior Jackpot Rodeo which includes Poddy, Steer & Mini Bull Rides also depending on numbers there could be Barrel Races there to entertain you from approx 10.00am.

We will be again offering Discount Family Tickets. Pre-Paid tickets will not be available at the gate. Prepaid tickets will be available online at Eventbrite or from the Sarina Show Office leading up to the show.

Nebo Rodeo

Grab your hats, dust off your boots and roll up your swag, it’s Rodeo time!

2023 the event has partnered with Nebo Hotel to bring you a fantastic weekend of entertainment for the whole family.

Starting on Friday night with the Nebo Hotel Street Party ’23 with free kids entertainment, stalls, mini eat street plus live entertainment from some great Australian talent.

Camp the night then head to the Nebo Rodeo on Saturday with the gates opening to a full APRA rodeo from 9am.

Main action starts at 6pm. Then enjoy the sweet tunes from Luke Geiger to finish off a great day of rodeo fun.

The Nebo Rodeo was established in 1956, but has grown in popularity in the last few years and is usually a sold out event. People flock from Mackay and the surrounding areas for a fantastic weekend.
